1. International Diving Standards

All diving activities at Hurghada Diving Centre are conducted in accordance with:

  • PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) standards
  • ISO recreational diving standards
  • Egyptian maritime and Red Sea regulations
  • Environmental protection guidelines for marine parks

All instructors and dive guides are certified, insured, and actively teaching within the limits of their qualifications.


2. Instructor & Guide Qualifications

  • All instructors hold valid professional certifications and teaching status
  • Dive guides are certified and experienced in Red Sea conditions
  • Staff regularly update their first aid, CPR, and oxygen provider training
  • Multilingual staff available where possible

3. Pre-Dive Procedures

Before every dive, the following procedures are mandatory:

  • Verification of certification level and logged experience
  • Completion of a medical questionnaire
  • Equipment inspection and setup check
  • Detailed dive briefing covering:
    • Dive site overview
    • Entry and exit procedures
    • Maximum depth and bottom time
    • Air management
    • Buddy procedures
    • Emergency signals and procedures

4. Equipment Safety Standards

Hurghada Diving Centre maintains all diving equipment to the highest standards:

  • Regulators, BCDs, and tanks serviced regularly by certified technicians
  • Air quality tested and tanks filled according to safety regulations
  • Rental equipment cleaned and inspected after each use
  • Weight systems and exposure protection checked before each dive

Divers may use their own equipment, provided it is in safe working condition.


5. Emergency Equipment & Procedures

Each dive boat and dive site is equipped with:

  • Emergency oxygen units
  • First aid kits
  • Communication devices (radio or mobile phone)
  • Emergency action plans specific to each dive location

In the event of an incident:

  • Diving is stopped immediately
  • First aid and oxygen are administered if required
  • Emergency services and hyperbaric facilities are contacted when necessary

6. Dive Ratios & Supervision

To ensure safety and control:

  • Certified divers are grouped according to experience level
  • Student divers are supervised according to training standards
  • Private guiding is available upon request

Solo diving is not permitted unless specifically authorized and certified.


7. Weather & Sea Conditions

  • Dive plans adjusted according to conditions
  • Dives may be changed, postponed, or cancelled for safety reasons

The final decision regarding dive operations rests with the dive center management and boat captain.


8. Medical Fitness & Insurance

All divers must:

  • Complete a medical questionnaire honestly
  • Obtain medical clearance if required
  • Be physically fit for diving activities

We strongly recommend all divers carry:

  • Valid diving accident insurance (e.g., DAN or equivalent)

Failure to disclose medical conditions may result in refusal to dive.


9. Depth Limits & Decompression Safety

  • Divers must stay within the limits of their certification level
  • No-decompression limits must be respected at all times
  • Dive computers are mandatory for all dives
  • Safety stops are required on all dives

Decompression diving is not permitted unless part of a certified technical diving program.


10. Environmental Responsibility

Safety includes protecting the underwater environment:

  • No touching, collecting, or damaging marine life
  • Excellent buoyancy control is required
  • Use of reef hooks only where permitted
  • No gloves policy may apply in marine parks

Environmental rules are strictly enforced to protect the Red Sea ecosystem.


11. Alcohol, Drugs & Fitness to Dive

  • Alcohol consumption is strictly prohibited before diving
  • Drugs or medication affecting alertness must be declared
  • Divers must be well-rested and hydrated

The dive center reserves the right to refuse participation if a diver is deemed unfit to dive.


12. Responsibility & Compliance

All divers are required to:

  • Follow instructions from dive staff at all times
  • Dive within their limits
  • Respect safety rules and procedures
  • Report any concerns or issues immediately

Failure to comply may result in exclusion from diving activities without refund.
