Open water Course

4 Days

Overview

Open Water Diver course typically includes:

  • Knowledge Development: This covers the principles and concepts of scuba diving, including dive theory, equipment, safety procedures, and marine life. This is often done through self-study (manuals, videos, e-learning) and classroom sessions with an instructor.
  • Confined Water Dives: These are conducted in a swimming pool or a calm, shallow body of water. Here, you’ll learn and practice basic scuba skills such as equipment assembly, buoyancy control, mask clearing, regulator recovery, and emergency procedures.
  • Open Water Dives: This is where you apply the skills learned in confined water to a real open water environment (e.g., ocean, lake, quarry). You’ll typically complete four open water dives over at least two days, gradually increasing depth and complexity. Each dive usually involves demonstrating previously learned skills and exploring the underwater environment.
  • Certification: Upon successful completion of all course components, you’ll receive a Open Water Diver certification, which allows you to dive independently with a buddy to a maximum depth of 18 meters/60 feet anywhere in the world.
