Cancellation & Refund Policy
At Hurghada Diving Centre, we understand that sometimes plans change. While we strive to be as flexible as possible, our services involve booking boats, allocating instructors, and preparing resources in advance. This policy outlines our standard terms for cancellations and refunds to ensure fairness for both our customers and our operations.
General Principles:
- All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing via email to supporteam@hurghadadivingcentre.com.
- Refunds will be processed to the original method of payment, typically within 7-10 business days from the approval of the refund.
- Administrative fees, bank charges, or currency exchange rate differences may apply and will be deducted from any refund amount.
- No-shows (failure to arrive for a booked service without prior notification) are non-refundable.
- Partial completion of a course or trip (e.g., deciding to stop halfway through) is non-refundable.
1. Daily Diving Trips
- Cancellations made more than 48 hours prior to the scheduled trip: Eligible for a full refund.
- Cancellations made between 24 and 48 hours prior to the scheduled trip: Eligible for a 50% refund.
- Cancellations made less than 24 hours prior to the scheduled trip: Non-refundable.
- Rescheduling: Requests to reschedule daily diving trips are usually accommodated free of charge if made more than 24 hours in advance, subject to availability.
2. PADI Courses (e.g., Open Water, Advanced, Rescue, Specialties)
- PADI Digital Products/Materials (eLearning): Once the PADI eLearning code or physical materials have been issued or activated, these components are non-refundable.
- PADI Certification Fees: Once your certification application has been submitted to PADI (typically after course completion), these fees are non-refundable.
- Course Fee (excluding materials):
- Cancellations made more than 3 days prior to course start: Eligible for a full refund of the course fee (excluding any already issued/activated materials).
- Cancellations made between 3 and 2 days prior to course start: Eligible for a 50% refund of the course fee (excluding any already issued/activated materials).
- Cancellations made less than 3 days prior to course start: Non-refundable.
- Medical Reasons: If a student is unable to complete a course due to a certified medical condition (requires a valid doctor’s note), a prorated refund for the uncompleted portion of the course fee only may be considered, subject to administrative fees and deduction of any used services.
3. Safari & Liveaboard Excursions
Due to the significant logistical planning involved, liveaboard excursions have stricter cancellation policies:
- Deposit: All deposits for liveaboard bookings are non-refundable.
- Cancellations made more than 15 days prior to departure: Forfeit deposit. The remaining balance (if paid) will be refunded.
- Cancellations made between 15 and 30 days prior to departure: Forfeit deposit and 50% of the remaining balance.
- Cancellations made less than 15 days prior to departure: Non-refundable.
- Third-Party Costs: Any non-recoverable costs paid to third parties (e.g., marine park fees, permits, port taxes) will be deducted from any eligible refund, regardless of the cancellation timeframe.
4. Safety-Related Cancellations by Hurghada Diving Centre
In the rare event that Hurghada Diving Centre must cancel a trip or course due to unsafe weather conditions, unforeseen mechanical issues, or other safety-related concerns, you will be offered:
- Option 1: Rescheduling for an alternative date, subject to availability.
- Option 2: A full refund for the affected service.
