Costs

The Cost Includes

  • Expert PADI Course Director & IDC Staff: Dedicated guidance, mentorship, and personalized coaching throughout the entire IDC.
  • Comprehensive Classroom Sessions: Engaging workshops and presentations covering all aspects of PADI instructor-level theory and teaching methodologies.
  • Extensive In-Water Training: Practical teaching presentations in confined water (from beach/shallow sea) and open water (from dive boats).
  • Tanks & Weights: All required tanks and weights for your IDC training and evaluations.
  • Boat Trips: All boat transfers for open water teaching presentations and relevant training dives.
  • Dive Center Facilities: Access to classroom, filling station, equipment wash areas, and general dive center amenities.
  • Practice Sessions: Ample opportunity to practice teaching presentations and refine your skills.
  • Lunch & Refreshments: Provided on board the boat during full-day boat trips.
  • PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) Certification: Upon successful completion of the IDC and passing the PADI Instructor Examination.

The Cost Excludes

  • PADI IDC Crewpak: This essential professional training package (including various slates, instructor guides, lesson guides, exams, etc.) is a significant cost and must be purchased separately.
  • PADI Instructor Examination (IE) Fee: This fee is paid directly to PADI, not the dive center, for your final evaluation.
  • PADI OWSI Application Fee: Paid directly to PADI upon successful completion of the IE for your certification.
  • Emergency First Response Instructor (EFRI) Course & Application Fee: This is a separate course and application that is mandatory for instructor status. It is typically run just before or integrated, but its cost is separate from the IDC unless explicitly bundled.
  • Personal Dive Equipment: As a professional, you are required to own a full, complete set of personal dive equipment in good working order (mask, fins, snorkel, wetsuit, BCD, regulator, dive computer, cutting tool, surface signaling device, whistle, SMB, compass, dive slate, primary and backup lights). Rental is not included.
  • Accommodation: Your lodging and accommodation expenses in Hurghada.
  • Meals & Drinks: Any meals or drinks beyond what is provided on boat trips.
  • Medical Examination: Cost of a medical examination by a physician (if required to sign your PADI Medical Statement).
  • Marine Park Fees / Local Taxes: Any applicable local marine park fees or environmental taxes.
  • Dive or Travel Insurance: Comprehensive travel insurance and professional-level dive accident insurance (e.g., DAN – Divers Alert Network) are mandatory for professional training.
  • Travel to/from Destination: Flights, train tickets, bus fares, or any other transport to Hurghada, Egypt.
  • Gratuities: Tips for dive center staff are at your discretion.
  • Transfers: Transportation from your accommodation to the dive center or marina (unless specifically arranged and confirmed as part of a package).
